When not at the office, you will likely find him spending time with his wife, Cortney, and their sons: Hudson, Carson, Becker
and Samuel. Dr. Ratzlaff enjoys most sports, and any activity that can get him outdoors.
Dr. Carl Newton
Dr. Newton established his practice in Cherokee in the Fall of 1983. He is dedicated to providing the best eye health care possible to his patients. Dr.
Newton's personal approach includes listening to the patient and obtaining a complete medical history. He utilizes state of the art diagnostic instruments to provide an examination that patients can trust.
Dr. Newton graduated from Waynoka High School in 1974. He attended OBU and OSU as an undergraduate and was in the first class to graduate from the Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma in 1983.
Carl is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, in addition to membership in state and national optometric associations.
Dr. Newton and wife, Jacque celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2018. They have three adult children. Rachael, who lives in Vancouver, British Columbia. Tim and wife Michelle of Alva, Oklahoma. Stacie who lives in Cherokee and currently works in the practice. He also has six grandchildren that he thinks the world of.
